Voltswagon

Overview:

Robot Name: Voltswagon
Team: Undergraduate Robotics Team
Team Placement: 12th Place
Event: IEEE SoutheastCon 2012
Division: Student Hardware Competition
Location: Orlando, FL

Competition Description:

The 2012 SoutheastCon competition required students to design a robot that could navigate a rectangular track. On the track there were four points at which the path would split briefly. Boxes were placed in front of each split, and each box would indicate if the robot should drive on the left side of the split or the right side of the split based on certain properties of the box including resistance, capacitance, temperature, or emitted waveform type. The robot was required to collect these measurements on its own and make the correct navigation decision based on its measurements. The robot was scored based on the number of correct navigation decisions that it could make within the time limit. Official Rules
